The Xbox Series X | The S is one of the most popular gaming consoles on the market right now and it’s paying off for Microsoft. In 2020, Xbox released two new consoles that took the platform to the “next generation” of hardware. The Xbox Series X was the largest and most powerful console and is the most premium gaming console for Xbox. The Xbox Series S is a much cheaper all-digital console and is aimed at more casual gamers or perhaps those who are struggling to get their hands on the Xbox Series X. With all of its options in the market, Xbox is having a lot of success.
as such Reported by IGNMicrosoft CEO Satya Nadella confirmed during an earnings call that the Xbox Series X and S are the fastest-selling Xbox consoles in the company’s history. The executive noted that the Xbox Series X and S “sold more consoles over their lifetime than any previous generation of Xbox.” Although it clearly didn’t beat Xbox One or Xbox 360 sales, the two consoles are selling faster than those two in the same time period. If that wasn’t interesting enough on its own, Nadella also noted that Xbox has been the leader in the next-gen console market for the past three quarters, which means it’s overtaken PS5 since the start of 2022.
With there’s a massive shortage of consoles right now, this shows that there’s an incredibly high demand for these new Xbox consoles and they’re flying off the shelves at an exorbitant rate. Console sales usually slow down at least a bit after the first few months, as the novelty of technology starts to fade and hardware becomes the norm, but that’s not really the case for these new Xbox consoles. It remains to be seen if it will be able to maintain this momentum, but with big exclusives like starfield On the way, Xbox will have a huge presence in this generation.
